With Stefan Emprechtinger the next generation is taking on personal responsibility for our company. Since 1 June 2023, he has joined the TEAM 7 management together with his father, CEO and owner Dr Georg Emprechtinger, and Hermann Pretzl (Managing Director of Production). Daughter Elisabeth Emprechtinger has also been working for the company since September. As project manager, she is implementing trend-setting measures in online marketing. Georg Emprechtinger is proud of the next generation and emphasises: “I am very happy that my children will continue my life’s work. I sincerely wish them both a lot of joy and success in their new tasks.”

TEAM 7 is continuing its successful expansion strategy with the opening of its first flagship store in Switzerland on 6 April 2023. In the former MZ Möbelzentrum in Volketswil in the Zurich Oberland, we will showcase custom-made solid wood kitchens and solid wood furniture for all living areas across approx. 600 m² of exhibition space. The new location is easy to reach thanks to its direct access to the A15 motorway. Visitors to the new TEAM 7 store also benefit from our highly trained interior designers’ superior consulting and planning expertise.

On 6 March 2023, TEAM 7 took another step towards achieving a sustainable future thanks to the installation of our new buffer storage system.

On 19 January 2023, TEAM 7 opened a culinary highlight right in the heart of Munich – Germany’s first pure TEAM 7 kitchen store. Located at Neuturmstraße 5, it combines the cumulative kitchen expertise of TEAM 7 displayed on 120 m² of exhibition space. This kitchen store is also a perfect complement to the TEAM 7 brand store on Herzogspitalstraße. “From now on, customers can benefit from both stores – especially when it comes to individual designs of open-plan living situations,” explains Dr Georg Emprechtinger, CEO and owner of TEAM 7.

Through its collaboration with Amrax®, TEAM 7 is setting new standards in the digitalisation and design of rooms. In a pilot project with the Salzburg-based DeepTech start-up Amrax®, TEAM 7 is currently testing the Metaroom Beta app, a multi-patented digital all-in-one solution in real time that supports our interior design consultants in TEAM 7 stores in realising their interior design projects in an innovative way. The app makes it possible to digitalise customers’ rooms in a matter of seconds. In addition to room dimensions and layouts, windows, doors and furniture, the true-to-scale 3D model also contains information regarding the colours and textures of the scanned space. The digital model can subsequently be opened and edited directly in the CAD programs, giving customers the opportunity to take a virtual tour through their very own dream home during the planning phase in a revolutionary way.

13 October 2022 was the big day – the day when the first oak slat was installed on the façade of the TEAM 7 Welt building by TEAM 7 Managing Director Hermann Pretzl. The vertical oak sun protection slats were developed by TEAM 7 and produced at our own workshops, making them unique and exclusive creations for the TEAM 7 Welt.

TEAM 7 has been named as the winner of the 2022 Environmental Management Award in the “Best EMAS Environmental Statement” category. An expert jury, made up of representatives from the worlds of business, science and administration, commended TEAM 7 for its sustainable business practices and its comprehensible and transparent presentation of the TEAM 7 Environmental Statement. This is not just a report on what the company has been up to, but rather an affirmation of the values that shape and guide TEAM 7. It is based on TEAM 7’s ambitious aim of developing the most eco-friendly and efficient solid wood manufacturing systems in the world – of becoming a “green factory”.
The award was accepted by TEAM 7 Managing Director Hermann Pretzl and Environmental Management Officer Patrick Assenbrunner at the Environmental Management Conference, hosted in the Great Hall at the University of Salzburg on 11 October 2022.

Among almost 11,000 entries from 57 countries, the pisa desk was awarded the coveted seal of quality.

We are very pleased to have once again won two of the most important international design awards! Our echt.zeit kitchen and our filigno writing desk impressed the top-class juries. Both of these were developed by our Head of Design, Sebastian Desch. The echt.zeit kitchen won the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2022 as the reddot winner 2022! It stands for pure, shared cooking pleasure through intelligent ergonomics, innovative technology and genuine solid wood. The filigno writing desk has won the BigSEE Wood Design Award 2022! It impresses with its clear stylistic elements, combined with generous storage space and ultramodern technology inside.

After about five months of building, the first construction phase of the TEAM 7 Welt was successfully completed a few days ago.

The TEAM 7 brand’s strict adherence to the principles of sustainability was the topic of a discussion between Dr Georg Emprechtinger (CEO and owner of TEAM 7) and the imm Cologne. For decades, TEAM 7 has been inspiring more and more people worldwide with its belief that “Ecology should be fun” and its combination of ecology, aesthetics and innovation for solid wood furniture from Upper Austria.

For more than 20 years, the children's hospice at Sterntalerhof has been looking after families with seriously or terminally ill children. So that people can have the best possible medical and therapeutic care when saying goodbye to a loved one, a new Sternenhaus is currently being built in Burgenland. It offers enough space – also for mothers, fathers and siblings. We are very pleased to be able to support this passion project by providing TEAM 7 solid wood furniture worth 25,000 euros.

A first mock-up of the new TEAM 7 Welt provides a glimpse into the future exterior and interior design of our new company headquarters.

On 6 July 2021, construction began on the new TEAM 7 Welt in Ried. Spanning a total floor area of 6100 m², an impressive new building will take shape at the headquarters in Ried im Innkreis. The four-storey timber-frame construction, created together with architecture firm Matulik, embodies TEAM 7’s love of solid wood combined with authentic craftsmanship and modern technology.

On 2 August 2021, TEAM 7 will launch the largest investment in the company’s history. In addition to the new TEAM 7 Welt, this innovative large-scale project will also include a new wood heating centre and a 2,000 m² production hall. Ultramodern, sustainable technologies are used in the process. The resource-saving low-tech building shows how ecology and economy always go hand in hand at TEAM 7.

On 4 June 2020 TEAM 7 Frankfurt opened its doors for the very first time to introduce visitors to the world of TEAM 7. With a display area of 450 m² it caters for every area of your home: the kitchen, dining and living spaces, bedrooms and kids’ rooms. Despite the standstill of our production in the last few weeks, there were still many busy bees at work - 350,000 to be precise! At the end of March, 7 beehives moved into our location in Pram. The TEAM 7 bee-keeping symbolizes our understanding of sustainable management, because honey bees play a decisive role in the cycle of nature. Therefore, our bees contribute to the preservation of diverse natural areas. From this, also we, the people who live in them, have a benefit. It’s impressive that almost 80 % of agricultural and wild plants are pollinated by bees. This also includes trees that we need for the production of our furniture. From this point of view, our furniture production starts with our TEAM 7 beehives! And we are especially looking forward to the delicious honey!

With its refreshingly light-footed combination of practical storage space and the latest technical features, all packed into a neat, elegant form, our new filigno writing desk proved to be an immediate crowd pleaser when it was presented at the imm cologne 2020. And now it has won over the jury of the iF DESIGN AWARD 2020.

The readers of WOHNIDEE magazine voted our sol solo piece to be the most beautiful piece of furniture in 2019 in the category "multifunctional furniture".

Last Saturday, the TEAM 7 employees and their partners celebrated a big TEAM 7 birthday party in the new TEAM 7 logistics centre in Pram. The joint party with about 900 guests started with the planting of a tree by the CEO and owner of TEAM 7, Dr. Georg Emprechtinger, and Managing Director, Hermann Pretzl. Until the official opening by Governor Thomas Stelzer and the TEAM 7 management,  visitors had the opportunity to take a look at TEAM 7's  sustainable value chain at exciting info points throughout the plant premises. After that, guests danced to live music until late at night. Many thanks to all the organisers and guests for a fantastic party!

In the first week of July, our TEAM 7 flagshipstore in Munich transformed into an outpost of Upper Austria in Bavaria. The organization Business Upper Austria hosted its event “Pop Up Store Upper Austria” right in our store. The agenda: Interesting business and “TechTalks” and a great stage for Upper Austrian enterprises and degree programmes to present themselves and the region. We are delighted by the numerous visitors and interesting talks and discussions. A cross-border exchange that really was beneficial to all participating parties.

“Making furniture in harmony with people and nature” – TEAM 7’s guiding principle impressed the expert jury, winning the award for “Best environmental declaration“ in the 2019 “Environmental Management Awards”. 2019 is the inaugural year for this new prize, awarded by the Austrian Federal Ministry for Sustainability and Tourism (BMNT). The award ceremony took place on 5 June, World Environment Day, as part of a conference on “Green Cooperation – working together for our environment & climate”. The prize was formally presented by the Austrian Minister for Sustainability and Tourism, Maria Patek, to TEAM 7’s Patrick Assenbrunner.

Our new logistics centre at our site in Pram (Upper Austria) opened at the beginning of February. With ultra-modern software and hardware and a total area of 7,000 m2, we are setting new standards for our performance and celebrating a new milestone in our company history.

At the Month of Design festival in Ljubljana, three of our products won honours in the Product Design category of the BIG SEE DESIGN AWARDS: sol, hi! and hood/hood+, all created by Sebastian Desch, our head designer. Some of the award-winning products are on display until 23 November 2018, together with other exciting projects from the worlds of fashion, architecture and interior design, in an exhibition in Ljubljana's creative centre, "City of Design".

DEUTSCHLAND TEST and FOCUS MONEY carried out a survey - for the fifth time now - to find out which brands are the most popular with consumers. Favourite brands were chosen for price, quality, service and reputation. TEAM 7 was among the winners. At the end of February, TEAM 7's first monobrand store in the US was officially opened in New York - on Broadway, close to Central Park. It was not just our custom-made solid wood furniture that thrilled the guests - they were also delighted by the musical entertainment, performed by members of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. After winning the 2016 Pegasus Award, Upper Austria's most important business prize, we have now also been awarded the region's gold "Corona" prize for 2017. TEAM 7 has been recognised as an exemplary teaching organisation for the second time with the INEO Award. This prize is awarded by the Austrian Chamber of Commerce and underscores the exemplary integration of our apprentices into the company.

Our newest TEAM 7 store opened in Shanghai at the start of September. This is TEAM 7's fifth store in the Asian market, following on from shops in Mumbai, Tokyo, Taiwan, and Beijing. The new store is located in Shanghai's most prestigious furniture mall, JSWB Hongqiao. We have a display area of over 370 m2, where customers can immerse themselves in the world of TEAM 7 and see the quality of our Austrian-made products for themselves.

Four unique locations in Berlin, Bonn and Hamburg were the backdrops in this year’s shoots for new, fascinating photo and video material. The stars of the show were our new products for 2016, in addition to bestsellers and classics from our kitchen, dining, living, entry hall, home office and sleep ranges.

As part of the gala evening, TEAM 7 was awarded the coveted Pegasus gold economic award, and was declared the winner in the “Leading Businesses” category (for companies with 250 or more employees). For the past 23 years, the Pegasus prize has been awarded by the daily newspaper “Oberösterreichische Nachrichten”, together with its partners, to the best businesses in the state. This year, a total of 300 companies applied.
